Meeting an author first-hand is an incredible experience that can help to increase children's enthusiasm for reading books and give aspiring writers the self-assurance they need to explore their writing. Author visits can make literacy exciting and engaging. I can create individual or collaborative pieces with the children.

The children will enjoy the visit more if they have been well prepared for it. Make sure reception staff and other teachers/teaching assistants know about the visit and who to contact when I arrive. Arrange for the usual teachers to be present during the talk. It helps if they actively take part. They can also help to control and direct the children. If we are doing a workshop, make sure that the children have all the necessary materials available and that the room is arranged suitably for the planned activities.

This is NOT a book selling opportunity. However, I will make signed bookmarks and other giveaways available to anyone who would like to have one. They will contain my website information, and information of my current books.  

I can also bring some small prizes that the children can win for their efforts.
